It never been the same, Mt Tapulao

Aug 14-15, 2010
Palauig, Zambales

Together with boondockers, i went back to high peak (Mt Tapulao). Start from humid and steamy trail up to pine forest with cold weather, what can I say, it never been the same.

I drove for about 5 hours just to hit Brgy. Dampay Salasa, Palauig, Zambales. Sleepless for about 7 hours (1 hour full rest at lunch, camp 2) of negotiating the trail under a humid
to cold condition, plus 4 hours chit-chatting till my last drop. It took me 1 day and 5 hours of sleepless but pure of time just see again mt tapulao. Last time I went here was 2005, still sleepless, humid to cold trail that made my entire trip very tired.

Tapulao offer a great view with pine forest on top
of it. Cold at night but you should be ready for the trail since it was really open and it can be like melting candle when sun is up.

For the trip at Mt Tapulao, just email us and let us hit the trail.

Thanks to Woody Galosa for the photos.

Rain Rain at Tarak Ridge

Last weekend Aug 7-8, some of my friends ask me to join a little trip and wackiness trek to Tarak ridge, Mt Mariveles, Bataan despite of rainy weather. We call the group FB mountaineer (facebook addicts). Our on the spot President is Mimay whos started this trip. Bench, Davho, Edwin, Alex, KEn, Jimmy, Aljon and me, all in one under the tarp while the rain never stop, sharing all laughing stories, jokes, love life etc.
Our incumbent president mimay that morning of aug 7 was late together with edwin. While the rest is waiting at Total gasoline station, Balintawak, Ken, Aljon and Alex are so busy with a couple bottles of red horse and the rest is listening to Alex who's make laugh all the time. After i think more than 2 hours, (not so delay with our itinerary), finally Mimay and Edwin came. So we hit the road immediately, trying to patch up some timed we've lost. We took Nlex and exit to San Fernando, Pampanga Exit. Took our lunch along the way some where in Bataan already.
When we reached jump off point, registered at brgy and buy other provision we started our trek. And the rain started also, its not just rain! it really pour and it never stop till we reached Papaya River. Its almost dark already, if we will push up to the ridge, for sure our trip will be ruin since the rain is not stopping so we decided to set camp near the river. Cooked our dinner, change our stuff and start our socials under the tarp we set.
That night was very funny and hilarious coz everybody has its own joke and stories to tell while drinking some gin.
We did not assault up to the ridge the following day coz of the rain that never ends till we descend. But our trip is full of memories to tell. That's why the gang are planning for another trip. You watch out it, very soon!
Thanks Jimmy for the photos

Mt Pulag National Park, located at the province of Benguet. Photo was taken 25th of july 2010 by mike abanes. This was the 4th trip to Mt Pulag of POT this year.

Mt Pulag is one of popular destination we offer for weekender peeps. For begginers or even professional climber. Visitors can enjoy cold weather, almost centralized in and out of your tent. From summit, view the spectacular sunrise on the horizon, above the sea of clouds, and drama continous while it change its color every second.

If you want to experince and visit this place, just make a call or email us so that we can arrange your trip in advance.
